Fresh 48: Welcome Lincoln & Evangelina

Fresh 48: Welcome Lincoln & Evangelina

I have been busy settling in here in Pennsylvania. I love all of my clients and was so excited to be able to gain new clients here. One of the first mamas to take a chance on me for a fresh 48 session was Laura. We chatted and she let me know that she was expecting twins!! I of course was super excited. We kept chatting and soon Laura decided that I would have the honor of photographing these two new humans the minute they arrived earthside.

Usually, I know my clients. We meet before, have friends in common or are co-workers (shout out to all the amazing co-workers who have booked with me over the years). When Laura let me know her babes were here I was nervous, hoping that she was just the kind of person that my quirky style of photography would vibe with. SHE WAS! This mom was the best, handling stress with grace and a big smile. She introduced me to Lincoln and his big sister Evangelina and we started chatting and wrapping babies right away!

I have to imagine, as a mom to only one new little bundle of babyness at a time, that having twins is blissful chaos. This mom handled it all so well. Her little boy Lincoln even spent a short stay in the NICU, on the day I arrived he had just been re-united with his womb-mate Evangelina. He was hungry and feisty and wanted momma’s snuggles! He was kind enough to allow swaddling and a pacifier to serve as a substitute while we got these photos.

This image has to be one of my favorite from the session. Such a cool combination of Fresh 48 with a little bit of posed newborn portraiture too!

Hello, World!

As our session came to an end momma was balancing all the spinning plates, discharge papers, birth certificate forms, and feedings, all with her poor salad from lunch left un-eaten. I left knowing that these two, along with their big sister at home at so incredibly loved, and that their mom is going to have moments where she is a kind of tired I cannot imagine. The ache of a heart growing double at once to hold these two babes inside is astonishing. Watching her hold them both, one in each arm, I was amazed. How two arms can hold so much. Laura is incredible and this new family of five has one strong woman leading their pack! Congratulations to the Veno Family on these two perfect new humans.
